Kathleen - Week 2

This past week we celebrated Matt's graduation at a brunch with our family and had our first few visitors. We also had Katie's 2 week appointment. She weighed in at 6 lbs 7 oz (12 %), 19.5 inches long (25%) and 13.25 inches in head circumferences (12%). This was the first week that Matt and I were flying solo with Katie, as my parents left last Sunday. To help us out Aunt Katherine organized meals for us for the week. Thank you to everyone who brought food...its been WONDERFUL not to have to worry about cooking! Pictures of the week are below. Enjoy! The four generations of Barnes'.

Kathleen's First Week

Its been a busy first week for Kathleen Marie. She met several members of the family, had her first bath, watched her daddy graduate from his Radiography program. Below are a few pictures marking her milestones for week 1.

First - we met our grandparents and a few aunts and uncles.
In the picture below you can see Claire helping dress her cousin Katie. She looked at her mom and said "put hat on baby." Too cute! Below is a picture of the cradle that Popa built for Matthew. Its being put to use by the second generation Barnes now. Here are a couple pictures after her first bath. Let's just say she was a bit more cooperative after the bath than during.

Kathleen Marie Barnes

On August 6th, 2009 at 11:08 PM Kathleen Marie Barnes arrived! Kathleen weighed 5 lbs. and 13 ounces and measured 19 inches long. Its been an extremely busy couple of days but mom, dad, and little Katie are home now and doing well. Thank you to everyone for you phone calls and emails of congratulations. Below are a few pictures from Katie's birth and her first few days. She has absolutely melted our hearts...

The photos below were taken by the hospital's professional photography service. Let's just say our personal photos aren't quite as nice as these! :-)

In the photo below Kathleen is about 15 minutes old! You may notice that she is mid scream...not too happy initially about entering her new world (ignore how tired mommy and daddy look...it was a long day!) . One of the funniest things about our birth story is that the doctor said "she looks exactly like her dad" before I had even seen her myself. Once I saw her though I had to agree. She is definitely daddy's little girl!
