This year, when I asked Katie where she wanted to have her birthday party she immediately said CMOR!!! As in Children's Museum of Richmond. YEAH. Not only is that the same place of her last 2 birthday parties, we don't live in Richmond anymore. So, we had to move on to plan B. After going through several options, she decided that Pump It Up was where she wanted to go. All her friends from Preschool were invited and nearly everyone made it --- she was so thrilled.
For those who have never been to Pump it Up, its basically a large facility with bouncy castles and huge slides and obstacle courses. Essentially, an excuse to run, jump, and slide all over the place.....a 4 year old's dream. This is Katie doing her "Super Katie" pose right before the party started.
In an earlier post I mentioned how Katie is still working on her shyness. You may notice in her birthday video that she is kind of turning away from the crowd of people singing to her. While it may seem from this video like she is still extremely shy --- its actually a huge milestone that she will stand at the front of a room by herself (without Matt or I) while others are staring/singing to her. Baby Steps!
I'm a little nostalgic about Katie's 4th birthday. It is our last as a family of 3. Katie's world (and ours) is going to be turned upside down in February and I just hope we can do a good job of showing her we have enough love for 2 little ones.
