This past week, there was snow in the forecast --- which is unusual for Richmond, VA in early December. Forecasts indicated we would get 1-3 inches which we felt was just enough to play for a day - and then get back to normal. AND the forecast was REALLY WRONG!!! When the storm was finished we got approximately 13 inches at our home.
The girls LOVED it! They woke up around 8 AM on Sunday, noticed the first flakes were flying, and immediately got dressed and went outside to play. It snowed throughout the day and finally finished up around 10ish in the night. We placed a 12 inch ruler on the patio table on the back deck and by the end, the ruler was completely buried.
On Monday --- the whole family got a snow day (even DADDY!!!). Matt's office is NEVER closed so it was such a treat to be able to go sledding together. We came back for hot chocolate and a movie. Then finished up our day by decorating our Christmas tree (which was a task long overdue).
Our family of four LOVES snow days. We are all hoping for a couple more good snow storms through this 2018/2019 winter season. And maybe on the next one, we will get to hit the ski slopes.
Including a few sledding videos...
