Matt has been so busy with school that we rarely see him -- even on weekends. But, I insisted he make some time for Easter festivities. So, he packed up with us and headed to Woolwine. The only bad part was that he packed his books too because he had a test on Easter Monday (bummer!).
Anywhooo...back to Easter. Saturday was a beautiful sunny day -- perfect for an Egg Hunt. My great Aunt's church has a really nice event each year for the kids so we headed there. In Katie's age group, they had hidden 250 eggs for 11 kids. SO much better than last year in Richmond at Maymont Park where she found 3 eggs -- and Matt and I had to guard over those to be sure other children didn't take them.
After the egg hunt was over, the church had pizza, kool-aid and snacks for everyone. Between the kool-aid and Easter Egg candy Katie was on a MAJOR sugar high. After getting busted with two other boys for running in the sanctuary and hiding in the pews (no, I'm not kidding) -- they were sent back outside to run up and down the hill.
One of the most unique things about my Aunt Charlotte's church is that it has a large creek running through the property with a covered bridge. Inside the bridge, there are gaps in between the wooden slats where you can drop rocks and plunk them right into the creek. Mommy had to join in the fun....after all, I can remember doing the same thing when I was a kid. :-)
Below is a picture from the last time we attended Aunt Charlotte's Church Egg Hunt (two years ago) and one of Katie and Matt from this weekend. One very obvious change....Katie grew hair (FINALLY)! LOL!
